Agree, it’s great to lie on the beach, watching your own yard from a bird’s-eye view. Or to explore an unfamiliar area from the comfort of your own home, where you have yet to go. All you have to do is… find someone who is willing to take pictures of the places you’re interested in. Or you can do something simpler – use a satellite map.
Satellite maps support different display modes – color, black and white, relief, etc., depending on the capabilities of the service that provided them.
With most of these maps you will be able to:
- View high-resolution satellite maps.
- Determine your location (live address).
- Create driving routes and view a driving map.
- Use a GPS trip and travel planner.
- Use voice-activated navigation.
- Know your driving speed using the speedometer.
- Find points of interest using the compass.
- Check the world time.
- View a 360° panoramic view (not available for every location).
- Use a map of highways.
- Locate POIs on maps, including satellite maps, such as ATMs, public transit stops, parking lots, medical facilities, hotels, and places to eat, etc.
Road and landscape maps are available in the app without an Internet connection, but as long as they are pre-loaded on the device. However, these maps do not always convey the current state of the terrain, as they are updated quite rarely.
